Lost behind my eye?
Can contact lenses get lost behind my eye?
Not a chance! A natural membrane covers your eye and connects to the inside of your eyelids, so it's physically impossible for that to happen.
Fall out of my eye?
Can contact lenses pop out or fall out of my eye?
It’s very unlikely. With proper fitting, lenses should stay in place almost all the time. In the rare chance that a lens moves out of place, it will usually stay in your eye until you adjust it.
Risk for eye infections?
Will contact lenses increase my risk for eye infections?
It’s rare if you practice good hygiene, proper lens care and follow the instructions we provide you. I’ll show you how to wear and care for your lenses, and you should be just fine!
Will my vision get worse?
Will my vision get worse from wearing contact lenses?
Contact lenses are safe to wear every day—that’s why they’re a great choice to correct your vision! I’ll give you instructions on when to replace them and how to clean them properly, and you’ll be good to go.
Prescription too strong?
Is my prescription too strong/ complicated for contact lenses?
With all of the major advancements in contact lens technology, nearly everyone can wear lenses—even those with astigmatism and presbyopia. We’ll properly fit you with your ideal lens to help ensure your eyes stay healthy and comfortable.
Help? I’m scared!
How could I wear contact lenses if I’m scared of touching my eye?
Practice makes perfect with anything new, just like learning to tie your shoelaces or how to drive. Give yourself a little more time to practice wearing them at first, when you’re not rushing to work or school.
Before you leave today, I’ll teach you how to easily apply and remove them. You can always call or come back if you’re having any trouble. [You can also provide patients with brochures and online resources as support for when they’re home.]
